Bike Fitting and Other Bike Services

Professional bike fit using Computrainer (additional costs for new cables and/or stem may apply).  $75 (follow-up adjustments to same bike $25)

An intensive, one-on-one bike fitting begins with filling out our questionnaire that will tell Chris about your racing goals and any problems you are experiencing with your current fit.  After a warm-up, Chris will begin making adjustments to make you more comfortable and more powerful.  A Computrainer will be utilized to monitor how fit changes are affecting your power output.  Expect the session to take 1-2 hours.  Please bring all your normal riding gear to a fit session: shoes, cycling shorts, helmet.  A tight-fitting bike jersey will make the fit process a bit easier.

Chris has personally been through a number of bike fittings by some of the best in the industry.  He has been doing informal bike fits for local racers for many years.  One advantage of getting fit by Chris rather than at your local bike shop is that you can be certain that any component changes he recommends are only in your best interest.  Shops have an incentive to sell you additional parts you may not really need during a fit session.  After being fitted on your bike, you will also leave with a list of recommended or optional component changes as well as stretching/strengthening exercises if needed.

Bike Services

Chris has been working on bikes since way before he could drive.  He has built countless bikes from scratch and is more meticulous with your bike than a busy shop.  He knows how hard you’ve trained for that “A” race and how disappointing it is to have a mechanical failure.  The following services are available as Chris’s time permits:

  • Thorough Pre-Race bike tune-up including cleaning ($60, no parts included). This should be done at least two weeks before your race.

  • Check every component and bolt.

  • If necessary adjust: derailleurs, brakes, hubs, true wheels, etc.

  • **For a full-blown pre-race tune-up, I recommend replacing cables, chain and tires.**

  • Just tune-up $40

  • Just cleaning $40

  • New cables and housing ($45 I provide cables and housing)

  • Bar tape ($10, you provide tape)

  • Install new crank and/or bottom bracket $25

  • Installation of new chain ($15, you provide chain, I only recommend SRAM chains, I won’t install Shimano chains- ask me!)

  • Install clincher tires $10 per tire.

  • Install tubular tires $20 per tire.
